Nicole Chavas

CEO

Nicole co-founded Greenprint Partners to drive private capital toward projects that solve social and environmental problems in underserved communities. She draws on a decade of investment management and due diligence experience spanning asset classes from public equities, fixed income and hedge funds to private equity, venture capital and real assets. Nicole earned her BBA and Masters of Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

April Mendez

Driven by an inherent respect for the human spirit, April co-founded Greenprint Partners to help foster environments in which everyone can thrive and make their mark on our collective future. A serial social entrepreneur, April most recently co-founded Interfaith Youth Core, a nonprofit transforming the way higher education engages religious diversity. April holds a B.A. from Carleton College and is pursuing an MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Laura Brenner Kimes

Vice President, Talent & Impact

An expert in ecology and resource management, Laura co-founded Greenprint Partners to accelerate communities’ journeys toward urban resilience. Laura is passionate about finding and nurturing exceptional talent to deliver on our mission. A staunch believer that ‘you manage what you measure’, Laura also leads our impact strategy, evaluation and reporting efforts. A veteran of the energy efficiency consulting and utility industries, Laura earned her BS in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Maryland – College Park and earned her MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Mike Park

Vice President, Finance

Driven by passion for community revitalization, Mike joined Greenprint Partners in 2017, bringing extensive experience in transactional finance and investments, and a successful track record leading due diligence on $10+ billion in transactions. Most recently, Mike was a member of the executive team for a tech-enabled financial services startup, and prior to that, served as a Senior Investment Officer at the United States Department of Energy. Mike earned his BA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University and his MBA from the George Washington University.

Jim Sparber

program director

Jim draws on 25 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure to lead Greenprint Partners’ citywide P3 solutions. As a consulting engineer, Jim has managed multi-million dollar projects ranging from stormwater collection and management system design, and roadway reconstruction, to water supply and distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems. Jim is a registered professional engineer in the states of Illinois and Michigan and holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Valparaiso University and a M.S. in Environmental Management from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Ryan Wilson

Program Director

Ryan joined Greenprint Partners to apply his expertise in public interest design, green infrastructure, and social entrepreneurship to the stormwater challenges of cities. He has over 13 years of experience designing, building, and developing innovative landscape and green infrastructure solutions that increase the vitality of cities. Ryan is a registered landscape architect in the State of Illinois, and holds a BLA in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia. He earned a postgraduate certificate from--and later joined faculty of--Archeworks, a public-interest design school.

Rose Jordan

Marketing Director

Passionate about furthering the way we communicate the ideals and practice of urban sustainability, Rose guides Greenprint Partners’ efforts to design, communicate and deliver value to cities, landowners, stakeholders and investors. Rose brings more than a decade of marketing and program management experience in consulting, public sector, nonprofit and social enterprise settings. Rose earned a community-based urban planning BA from the University of Washington and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Genese Leach

Program Coordinator

Genese has dedicated her career to increasing the engagement of diverse and underserved communities in environmental issues, and this passion drives her community education and engagement work at Greenprint Partners. She draws on nine years’ experience in government relations and environmental policy work at organizations like The Audubon Society and The Nature Conservancy to help Greenprint Partners navigate the regulatory aspects of green infrastructure development. She earned her BA in Environmental Science and Policy at McDaniel College.

Dave Chen

Board Chair

Dave is a Principal and Chairman of Equilibrium Capital, leading the firm’s strategy and product development process. He formed Equilibrium to be a global leader in sustainability-driven asset management for institutional investors that delivered both sustainable alpha and intentional positive impact on our community and environment.

Dave’s passion and commitment to sustainability is a result of his work in venture capital, regional economic development and climate change policy.

Kathy Roland

Board Member

Kathy has spent the past 15 years helping entrepreneurial companies grow and prosper through her work as a Venture Partner at Oak Investment Partners. Kathy participates on a number of food and agricultural task forces and is a judge for the Food/Ag/Beverage division of the MN Cup.  She also currently sits on the board at Revolution Foods. Prior to Oak, Kathy held management positions at Harmon Glass and Target.  She has a BA from Carleton College and an MBA from The Wharton School.  

Kim Dempsey

Board Observer

Kim is deputy director of the Social Investment Practice at The Kresge Foundation. In this role, Kim works with Kresge program teams and external borrowers, financial intermediaries, banks and policy makers to identify areas where lack of capital is a barrier to helping vulnerable people improve their life circumstances. Kim graduated Phi Beta Kappa with BA degrees in community studies and sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She received a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard Kennedy School.

John Lochner

Senior Advisor

John is Managing Director of Hulbert Capital. An investor in and advisor to businesses in water, energy, and sustainable resource management, John has also served in leadership and advisory positions at Natural Resources Defense Council and Locus Energy. John’s experience in renewable energy also includes work as a consultant to the Department of Energy, as a Board member, Treasurer, and Member of the Executive Committee of the Solar Energy Finance Association (SEFA), and as an investment banker in the Global Energy Group at Credit Suisse, where John executed transactions across the traditional and renewable power sectors.
