Meg supports the landscape architecture team with design concepts, visualization and spatial planning. She believes public landscapes, whether large or small, have the potential to revitalize, educate and inspire urban communities. Meg is passionate about expanding the urban tree canopy, using native plants and intentionally incorporating seasonal plant characteristics in her designs.
Her diverse background includes work as a chemist analyzing construction materials and as a seasonal container gardener on Chicago’s North Shore. Meg earned dual master’s degrees in architecture and landscape architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and dual bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and studio art from the University of Richmond. She remains actively involved with the IIT faculty and students by hosting office tours, attending events, guest lecturing, sitting on student review panels, encouraging prospective students, tagging along on field trips and occasionally teaching.
