Greenprint partnered with Groundwork San Diego-Chollas Creek to address climate challenges in the Chollas Creek Watershed, including flooding and extreme heat. Together, we developed a watershed-wide blue green infrastructure (BGI) plan and empowered residents to advocate for climate solutions.
We helped secure $500,000 in funding from private and public sources and led a four-month training program for resident fellows on climate resilience and BGI. We also advised on public engagement strategies to strengthen recommendations to the San Diego Planning Department.
Our communications team spearheaded branding efforts to promote BGI and stormwater investments, engaging residents to advocate for solutions that addressed flooding while improving parks, trails and public spaces. We co-developed a community-centered BGI plan and supported the Chollas Blue Green Vision public education campaign. The Chollas Blue Green Vision brand — symbolizing the link between water, environment and community — unified campaign materials and outreach efforts.
The brand became the anchor for the Chollas Blue Green Collaborative, a 60-member regional group advancing community-centered BGI and climate resilience. Greenprint supported the Collaborative's launch and facilitated quarterly meetings to guide development of the Chollas Blue Green Vision document and implementation plan.
