This webinar was presented by the Green Infrastructure Leadership Exchange on August 26, 2026.
In this webinar, Greenprint’s April Mendez, Jim Sparber, Sydney VanKuren, Alex Heidtke and Peter Graves make the case for scaling green infrastructure through three property types that serve as high-impact community anchors: schools, parks and places of workship. These mission-driven properties are often well suited for green infrastructure, with open space, large impervious areas, centralized decision-makers and the potential to maximize co-benefits for community members.

The team walks through the regulatory drivers, compares the opportunities and barriers of each property type, and shares the messages that actually move owners to participate: refreshed play space at schools, passive recreation at parks and stewardship at places of worship. A panel then takes on the question that follows every green infrastructure project — who maintains it, and how do you pay for that over the long term?
